Welcome Home!!!

Hello everyone, and welcome to Squirrel Tail Brewing Company’s website.  My name is Joe and I am here to give you a quick update as to what we have been up to recently.  Last weekend was the Brooklyn Wort Competition. For those of you who do not know what this is, it is a homebrew competition in which 30 homebrewers entered and battled it out to see who had the best brew.  There were some great beers there, we made some good friends, and had an awesome time!  February 2011 people’s choice winner was Andrew Maiorana, with The Squid’s Fist, Brown Ale and the winner of the judge’s choice was Jason Sahler with J.J. Bollerack’s Brown Ale. Congratulations to both of them!

What did we enter you ask???  I will tell you.  We entered our Deserted Island IPA and yes it is as delicious as it sounds!  We placed 3rd in the people’s choice category!  Overall, it was a great day!So, what else is there to say…well…stay tuned, we are brewing new batches at least once a week and will keep you all updated as to what is going on.  Also, see our other pages for more information on how to reach us and keep checking back.  We will be fixing this site up to look all pretty and we have some cool and exciting stuff that we are working on now that we can’t wait to share with you.

Thanks for reading!

Joe

I wish I could have tasted the Deserted Island IPA. I have to say the brown ale was great on saturday, a good accompaniment to a 30th birthday / beard.

Can’t wait to get these webisodes started!

You guys! This looks amazing. I can’t wait to see more. When’s the next competition? And, very important, are you working on a dessert beer? Does such a thing exist?!!!

    • Hey Mara,
Sean here. Thanks for the compliments. We have some really exciting beers we are working on. Some are in the realm of “dessert” beers. We haven’t tackled it yet but a Baked Apple Brown Ale has been discussed. Also, inspired by the great efforts of regional baking is our Marbbel Rye. It is a Belgian Dubbel with and American Rye Ale backbone also conditioned on some home made Caraway extract. Sick sick beer. Stay tuned.
